  • Receive free Champions with the return of the Grand Banquet Event
  • New Champion Isophyne makes her grand debut
  • Rank up your champions with the Chrono-versary Part 2 side-quest

Kabam is celebrating an epic ten years of service for Marvel Contest of Champions, bringing a boatload of 10th-anniversary content to the popular fighting game. If you've always been a fan of these Marvel brawls of superheroic proportions, there's no better time than now to go all in.

10th-anniversary Champion giveaways

Don't we all love freebies? To celebrate a decade of fast-paced action, Marvel Contest of Champions is bringing back the Grand Banquet Event - here, you can take on Quests, special Calendar events, and Double Track and Realm Events to score some goodies. Perhaps what's most interesting is the Glorious Guardians Banquet Box, which puts six Glorious Guardians up for grabs in exchange for all your hard work.

In particular, all you have to do is clear specific objectives to obtain six Banquet Keys - once you've got them all, Purgatory, Medusa, Black Panther (Civil War), Deadpool (X-Force), Sentry and Sentinel will be all yours. These Champions will also receive surprise reworks to shake up the current meta.

And speaking of free Champions, the Grand 10x10 Supply Drop will run from December 10th to the 19th to give away free Champions just because. This is their most generous giveaway ever, handing out the following Champions: Spider-Man (Classic), Gambit, Gwenpool, Iron Man (Infinity War), Guillotine 2099, Storm (Pyramid X), Jabari Panther, Wiccan, Vox, and - the star of the show - Isophyne.

Isophyne is a new original Marvel Champion and artificial lifeform that was first revealed at New York Comic Con, and actress Erika Ishii lends her vocal chops to this powerful new character. Find out if she's worthy of joining the ranks of original Champions Chee'ilth, Aegon, Morningstar, Guillotine 2099, and Purgatory from the official behind-the-scenes trailer.

Quests and quality-of-life updates galore

Of course, with these new Champions added to your lineup, you'll no doubt want to give them a go in combat, which is what the aptly named Violent Delights quest is all about. With the radiation from an abnormal abundance of ISO-8 wreaking havoc on both friend and foe, it's up to you as The Summoner to battle your way through the chaos to stop this madness once and for all.

Just in case you're keen on distracting yourself with something else on the side, the Chrono-versary Part 2 side-quest will have you chrono-cataloging the Champions with H.E.R.B.I.E. to help you Rank Up your classic Champions in exchange for awesome rewards.

On the flip side, if you're on the hunt for a real challenge, you'll be happy to know that the Summoner Level Cap has now been increased to level 70 - it's not going to be a walk in the park though, as you'll have to acquire a new resource called Refined XP to get there. Thankfully, a new Summoner profile feature will give you a sneak peek of the rewards that are in store for you as you climb up the ranks - a fitting motivation for hitting that elusive level 70 milestone.

All these are presented with a revamped menu background in the Home Screen and Crystal Vault, so you can feast your eyes on better Character Visuals and Environment scenes - plus 60 FPS - for some extra eye candy.

MCOC through the years

Suffice it to say that ten years in the mobile sphere is no easy feat. Marvel Contest of Champions still wears its Google Play Editor’s Choice award in 2014 along with a badge for 2018’s Google Android Excellence awards, and currently boasts two million active players every month. More than 280 Champions have joined the fight since its launch, and just last year, its Battlerealm Brawl Live Event saw players going head-to-head in a Top 8 global player competition in Vancouver, BC.

It's not all confined to the mobile space, either - last year, the First Nations-inspired original character Chee’ilth took centre stage in a special-edition Chee’ilth digital comic book. All these go hand-in-hand with promotional collabs over the years, with stars Jeff Goldblum, John Mulaney, Taika Waititi, Tom Holland, Gemma Chan, Dave Bautista, Clark Gregg, Michael B. Jordan, Richard Madden and other high-profile talent joining the fray.

And finally, earlier this year, the Wheel of Champions towered over San Diego Comic-Con at the Martin Luther King Jr Promenade. If you were in the San Diego area, you might have chanced upon the prize wheel crafted in partnership with Google that day - a truly breathtaking sight to behold.

It's all thanks to you, the beloved community of passionate Marvel fans who've been with MCoC since the very beginning. This includes the 37,000+ members on Discord and the 1.5 million social media followers that share the same love and fandom - and with this kind of support, it seems that there's only bigger and better things to expect from here.

If you're keen on discovering everything else that the 10th-anniversary festivities have to offer - whether that's the upcoming Sagas or the limited-time events up ahead - you can head on over to the official website to learn more!
