PUBG Mobile has updated its esports power rankings in the wake of PUBG Mobile World Cup
Things are heating up in the competitive gaming scene
- Krafton has unveiled updated power rankings for their PUBG Mobile Esports scene
- It includes new changes based on the recently-concluded PUBG Mobile World Cup and more
- Alpha 7 Esports continues to dominate the top of the leaderboard
PUBG Mobile developer Krafton has revealed the updated esports ranking for its top competitive gaming stars. In the wake of the PUBG Mobile World Cup 2024, the rankings have been updated to reflect the winners, losers and journeymen of the tournament. To reflect this, there's also been a new video released where top esports commentators break down the changes in ranking.
Team Liquid, D’Xavier and Alliance are the main entrants into the upper tiers of the top 10, meanwhile, Alpha 7 Esports continue to dominate the top of the leaderboard. Even after a major event at the inaugural Esports World Cup in Saudi Arabia, and the recent PUBG Mobile World Cup, Krafton is already encouraging analysis and speculation about how this could change with the next major event.
While esports power rankings may not necessarily be interesting to the layman, or those of us not already invested in competitive gaming, they do aptly demonstrate just how many teams and how vibrant the PUBG Mobile community is. And while some games have definitely stumbled when trying to pursue esports, Krafton seems to be marching ahead.
I do find it odd how much esports coverage (not ours naturally) tries to emulate that of major sports leagues. But then I'm used to seeing subjects like the FGC, where a bit of self-deprecation and eccentricity is expected, if not encouraged.
