  • Jack & Detectives is a new multiplayer social deduction game
  • The game is inspired by the popular party game Werewolf
  • Solve murders or commit them depending on your role

New detective game Jack & Detectives is now available for mobile and PC via Steam. Based on Werewolf, a party social deduction game, Jack & Detectives tasks you with either solving murders or committing them. The game is currently in Early Access on Steam where it is 40% off today in celebration of its launch. The mobile version of the game is free.

This new social sleuthing title simplifies the rules of Werewolf, making it easy for persons of all experience levels to get in on the fun. Unlike the party game that inspired it, you won’t need to make conversation. In fact, the developer describes it as a silent social deduction game.

Upon beginning a round, you and the other players will be given the roles of detective or Jack the Ripper. As Jack the Ripper, you must commit murder without being caught by the detective, while the detective attempts to sus out who the killer is.

Gameplay is turn-based with detectives aiming corner suspects and Jack the Ripper attempting to frame another to take the fall for his crimes. Each round lasts for ten minutes, and unlike in the party game that inspired it, every player can play until the end, instead of becoming spectators midway through.

There are multiple multiplayer modes for you to take part in. You can partake in ranked matches against players across the globe or set up Room matches for you and your friends. In addition, cross-platform play lets you play with friends regardless of the device they're using.

You can even customize your in-game avatar aka your “meeple” with various colors and tokens available. Jack & Detectives is available now on the App Store, Google Play and Steam. To learn more about the game, view its page on one of the aforementioned platforms or visit the official website.
