Vampire: The Masquerade - Shadows of New York takes you back into the world of darkness, out now
  • Vampire: The Masquerade - Shadows of New York is a new visual novel set in the iconic world of darkness
  • Navigate the internal politics of your midnight aristocracy and use your supernatural powers
  • Just avoid going stir crazy from your unnatural hunger for blood, being immortal bites

It's time to dive back into the world of darkness, as the sequel to Coteries of New York, Vampire: The Masquerade - Shadows of New York hits iOS and Android today. A visual novel set in White Wolf's iconic roleplaying game universe, you'll take on the role of a vampire (naturally) in a world where you don't just have to worry about humans or other vampires, but also yourself.

In Shadows of New York, you play as a newly embraced Kindred of the Lasombra Clan. Basically, a fresh-faced vampire in a group of them renowned for sneakiness and subterfuge. You'll need to avoid falling victim to your own hunger for blood, all while navigating the tricky underworld politics of your fellow immortals in the Camarilla.

In any case, if you've played Coteries of New York or other visual novels then you know what to expect. Interact with other characters, make choices, balance your needs and utilise your supernatural abilities to survive. Whoever said that being immortal was going to be fun?

Bite night

Vampire: The Masquerade may seem hopelessly quaint now. But back in the day (or so I'm told) it was a real game-changer at a time when vampires were just becoming cool again. Regardless of whether you're a dyed-in-the-wool lover of all things fanged and batlike, or a little bit sceptical of those sparkly Twilightesque Bela Lugosi clones, Draw Distance's newest visual novel in the setting is sure to grab you and sink its teeth in.
