With the 30th anniversary celebrations for Blizzard's iconic Warcraft franchise well underway, it's no surprise that we're seeing plenty of great new additions to their catalogue, including on mobile. And the latest suite of announcements we're covering today is for none other than the hit card battler Hearthstone.
As part of the 30th anniversary Warcraft Direct, the team at Hearthstone showed off what we can expect going into 2025. Sure, it may be a while to wait, but it promises to be worth it. For starters, Starcraft fans will be able to enjoy a new Heroes of Starcraft card set that'll feature characters from the Protoss, Terran and Zerg factions.
Of course, if you're not too fussed on crossovers, there's plenty more coming next year. Hearthstone will open the doors to the Underground Arena, exploring the Emerald Dream for the first time. You'll also journey back to the Un'Goro Crater to explore the Shrouded City, and if you need a reason to be excited for next Christmas, the Heroes of Time expansion takes you alongside Chromie through alternate realities.
Suffice it to say I reckon that anyone would be pleased with this sort of lineup for 2025. Although I do notice that, alongside the recent Diablo Immortal x Warcraft crossover, Blizzard seems to be leaning quite heavily on mixing their franchises for this anniversary. Satisfying for some I'm sure, but I reckon that there's those who prefer to keep their fantasy and sci-fi separate when it comes to Hearthstone. Still, even those cynics will likely be interested in at least seeing how these new cards play.
